When an individual or family moves from one living space to another, tough decisions must be made regarding the things to be kept, discarded, given away, or simply left behind. My project, Transitions, seeks to establish a connection between the objects left behind in a vacated house and what these may suggest about the lives that had been led within those walls. By photographing the objects left behind within a vacated house, I seek to capture and preserve an impression of the departed inhabitants and the essence of their lives.
