The Dugout

I have been photographing at baseball games since my 16-year-old son, Peter, started playing Little League in 2005. In the spring of 2015, I was invited by my son’s baseball coach to photograph the Decatur High School baseball teams. I chose to primarily photograph from the dugout but at times ventured out to the periphery of the field. It was an opportunity to witness what a spectator was unable to observe from the stands and to capture authentic moments that were fleeting and concealed from public view. I continued to photograph in the dugout during baseball season for two more years until my son graduated from high school in the spring of 2017.
